The Perth Branch of the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) was formed in 2004.

The SUT is a multi-disciplinary learned Society bringing together individuals and organisations with a common interest in underwater technology, ocean science and offshore engineering. It was founded in 1966 and has members from more than 40 countries, including engineers, scientists other professionals and students working in these areas.

Autonomous Marine Technology Conference
Returning in 2025, the Autonomous Marine Technology Conference (AMT) – formerly Autonomous Underwater Technology Conference, will be held in Perth, Western Australia in October. The conference aims to showcase the rapid advances in the AMT field along with demonstrating real world and future potential applications of the different technologies within our marine environment.

Mentoring
SUT Australia (Perth branch) has teamed up again with PPDM Association, Engineers Australia, Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA), Society of Petroleum Engineers WA (SPE) , Energy Club and Subsea Energy Australia (SEA), to put on a co-hosted mentoring program and give everyone the opportunity to broaden their professional network.
