Craig Sharp
Head of Engineering, Balmoral Comtec
Craig Sharp is a Mechanical Engineer with over 25 years of experience spanning the aerospace, defence, and energy sectors. As Head of Engineering, he holds strategic and managerial responsibility for Balmoral’s Design Engineering team and product portfolio.
During his 17 years with Balmoral, Craig has developed deep technical expertise across the company’s full product range and its integration with client systems. He drives continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation and frequently represents Balmoral in industry joint industry projects and technical forums.
Craig previously led Balmoral’s ILM accredited Leadership Academy for five years, identifying and developing emerging talent across the business. He also plays an active role in shaping the company’s systems, processes, and engineering governance.
A regular contributor to industry workshops and technical collaborations, Craig works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure his team consistently delivers efficient, reliable, and cost effective engineering solutions.
Scott Duncan
General Manager, 2H Offshore
Scott Duncan is General Manager of 2H Aberdeen. A Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, he has extensive expertise in flexible riser systems and offshore asset integrity. Over his career, Scott has led numerous technical projects focused on the design, monitoring, and life extension of flexible risers in demanding offshore environments for clients such as Equinor and Tullow Oil.
Scott manages 2H’s team in Aberdeen, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Under his leadership, the team has delivered cutting-edge solutions in areas from riser life extension and fatigue monitoring to bespoke component design and detailed local analysis.
Scott is a member of the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) Aberdeen committee, where he supports knowledge sharing and industry collaboration.
Ian MacLeod
Technical Director, Wood Group
Chartered Mechanical Engineer (CEng, FIMechE) and Technical Director with 25 years’ experience providing global leadership in subsea integrity and flexible pipe systems. Recognised as a trusted SME and Technical Authority, I have led major Joint Industry Projects (including the long‑running Sureflex JIP), authored key industry guidance and API contributions, and supported operators, regulators, and certifiers in identifying, assessing, and managing safety‑critical threats across complex subsea assets. My career spans technical governance, integrity management, failure investigation, standards development, and leadership of global expert networks, with a consistent focus on risk reduction, barrier health, and major accident prevention.
Andrew Shanks
Lead Analysis Engineer, TechnipFMC
Andrew holds a BA (Hons) in Mathematics from Canterbury University, New Zealand. He has over 20 years of experience in the offshore industry, specialising in riser systems and dynamic analysis. For the past eight years, he has been the UK Flexible Analysis Lead for TechnipFMC, working on projects across all stages, from initial design through to life extension.

Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations are subject to a 25% administration fee where the cancellation is made more than one calendar month before the date of the training course. No refund is payable for a cancellation made within the calendar month immediately prior to the training course – in this event the full sum shown on the invoice remains payable.
Delegates may wish to nominate a substitute in their place.
