We are pleased to announce the first student-led technical seminar organised by the SUT Eastern Mediterranean – Student Committee, in collaboration with the Department of Chemical Engineering, Cyprus University of Technology (ChemEngCUT).
🔹 Seminar title:
BPT NUF Utility Buoy: Offshore Testing and Technology Readiness
This seminar will present a real-world case study on floating utility buoy systems, focusing on offshore testing, technology readiness, and their role in supporting subsea and offshore energy projects.
The seminar will highlight the BPT NUF utility buoy demonstrator programme, recently awarded Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6, and discuss how floating utility solutions can support offshore and deep-water projects in the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond.
The event is open to students, researchers, academics, and professionals with an interest in offshore engineering, subsea systems, floating facilities, and offshore renewables.
A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

Speakers
David Steed
Manager - Marine & Technology Group, Crondall Energy (UK)
David is a naval architect with 19 year’s post graduate experience
spread across the offshore energy, commercial shipping and defence
industries. He is a chartered engineer with master's degrees both in
Ship Science and Business Administration. David specialises in
managing commercial, technical and strategic risk in the offshore
energy industry. His role at Buoyant Production Technologies is to
identify and develop technology solutions that can help solve the
current and future challenges being experienced by the industry.
