Decarbonising the energy system, Abigail Davies
Decarbonising the energy system is one of the most pressing issues of our time and yet there is a serious lack of data and knowledge about how this is achieved. Abigail presents her PhD work investigating the greenhouse gas emissions from decommissioning and how the results can be used to inform decarbonisation decision making.
Abigail Davies has over 15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry working in various roles in geosciences for operators and supply companies. Having very recently completed her PhD in the quantification of greenhouse gas emissions from decommissioning Abigail joined the Robert Gordon University in September as a lecturer in sustainability. Abigail’s research interests include quantification of GHG emissions from the energy system, including GHG emissions transition pathway mapping, sustainability, circular economy and climate change mitigations.
- Only Members of the SUT (Individual Members and Corporate ‘named’ persons) are allowed to attend the AGM. There is no charge for the evening.
- Non-members are welcome to attend the Awards Ceremony, the Presentation, and the Reception at a charge of £30.
The Annual Report and Financial Statements of the Society will be provided as a pre-read prior to the meeting on the SUT website.
