Presented by: Darren Burbury, Head of Geotechnical Design – Projects, Ørsted
Darren, a Chartered Geotechnical Engineer (CEng MICE) and APM-PMQ certified Project Manager, brings over 15 years of expertise in the offshore geotechnical sector. His experience spans from conceptual to FEED and detailed design of both Oil and Gas and offshore wind structures. Darren has spent a year on offshore vessels, conducting site investigations. Since 2017, he has been leading geotechnical and ground engineering teams at Fugro UK and Iberdrola, where he served as the Ground Engineering Lead. Currently, he holds the position of Head of Geotechnical Design – Projects at Ørsted. Darren is particularly interested in research that is value-focused, aiding in the identification of risk and value in geotechnical design.
