The Dutch Sector of the North Sea is a region of geological complexity with many sequences of glacially modified strata and is one of the densest European development areas for offshore wind. In this talk, I will guide the listener through the integrated ground modelling process implemented to reduce ground risk uncertainty at one of the prospective wind farm sites, IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Beta. I will demonstrate the methodology, results and challenges identified during site investigation, geodata integration and development of a full suite of innovative products that help developers gain clarity on variable soil conditions.

Speaker: Harry Eady (MSci Geol (Hons.) – Supervising Engineering Geologist, Fugro

Harry is an Engineering Geologist working in a multi-disciplinary team of Geologists, Geotechnical Engineers and Geophysicists at Fugro with the purpose of performing detailed site characterisation and geohazard analysis for offshore developments using innovative ground modelling techniques.
