Technical talk: Applying the maxim “think global, act local” to offshore renewables

The global energy transition task can seem overwhelmingly complex. In Australia, one may feel even more helpless as the nation’s energy policies do not properly address the task. This poses the question of; how can we as offshore engineers in Perth Australia make a real difference? Join us to hear how Terry and Scott’s local work in offshore renewables is achieving globally significant impact.

About the speakers:

🔹Dr Terry Griffiths (Aurora Offshore Energy & UWA)

Terry is a mechanical engineer with over 25 years’ experience in pipeline, subsea facilities and cables engineering, including in Australia, Asia, and the North Sea.

🔹Prof Scott Draper (UWA)

Scott is a Professor in Civil Engineering at UWA with a focus on ocean infrastructure. His research aims to understand ocean-structure-seabed interaction problems.
