Alex Bandini-Maeder
Alex is a Senior Geologist at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) in Perth where he leads the geoscience team. He is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Energy Geoscience at the University of Western Australia where he participates in research projects on biostratigraphy and seismic stratigraphy. He is also actively participating in the International Ocean discovery Program (IODP) and took part in expedition 351 offshore Japan where a 1,600m deep borehole was drilled in a water depth of 4,700m to better understand the subduction initiation processes. Since 2010, Alex has been extensively involved in the development of several offshore and onshore energy projects in South East Asia and Europe. His expertise covers the scoping of geophysical surveys and geotechnical site investigations focusing on geohazard assessments; and the management and interpretation of multifaceted datasets to assess the potential geohazards and associated risks to the projects and help develop mitigations
