Andy Lane

Andy graduated in Geology, University of London in 1972. On graduation joined Binnie and Partners, Consulting Engineers on the Wash Feasibility Study; where mainly involved with metocean data – but managed some geology (and fishing!). Followed this with four years in the North Sea with E.G. & G Geophysical Ltd, then four years with E.G. & G in Singapore and two years with E.G. & G. Australia Pty, starting as a trainee Geophysicist and ending up as Chief Geophysicist. Worked in Perth as an independent consultant (1984 to 2002), mainly on Oil and Gas projects, with some construction and mining projects. As an independent was fortunate to work for a variety of operators on most of the NWS projects. In 2002 joined Woodside as a geohazard analyst. Developed the Company’s geohazards capability, becoming the Geotechnical and Geohazards Co-ordinator within the Geomatics department. Retired in 2014
