Middle East – Emergency Pipeline Repair Systems (EPRS)

09:00 at ADNOC Business Center, 308 Zayed The First St, Abu Dhabi

This event is free to attend, but booking is essential.

For every project, we are always focused on evaluating our risks in execution. After the project is complete and the pipeline is in place, there is still the long term risk of damage or failure of the line. Even though the probability of the risk is low, the potential consequence of realizing this risk can be enormous. An Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS) is how we manage the risk of long term shutdowns and damage to the environment. There is no single fix when it comes to pipeline repair; many different tools and strategies need to be considered. This presentation will walk you through what is necessary for a proper EPRS Toolbox. Working to show these items from both the client, suppliers, and operator’s perspectives. Providing a better understanding of tools and what options may already be alible regionally.

Introduction: To subsea pipeline failure modes, types of damages, criterial of selecting repair solutions, water depth consideration, criticality of EPRS, safety, the environmental and economic impact of a pipeline failure, etc. – Richard Richards, ME SUT Committee

Operator Perspective: Giving a broad operator’s perspective on pipeline repair that considers all aspects. in EPRS, including the necessity for an operator to be prepared for the unexpected. From decommissioning the damaged section to restarting the line, as well as ways to manage the system , sustainably and effectively for the long term – Dolphin Energy

Welded Solution: Subsea pipeline repair using hyperbaric welding techniques; the equipment, the methodology and case studies – DCN
Mechanical Solutions: On-bottom shallow water permanent subsea pipeline repairs for minor or major damages; the equipment, the procedures, and case studies –  Oceaneering

Mechanical Solutions: Subsea Pipeline Repair Systems, the systems, equipment, and case studies – Subsea Innovation

Hot Tapping/By-Pass Operations: Underwater hot tapping, isolation, by-pass and repair solutions of pipelines with uninterrupted production; the systems, equipment, methodology, and case studies – STATS

EPRS Club: The Abu Dhabi EPRS Club for member companies managed by NPCC, with an explanation of the existing contract, its execution, planning, readiness and effectiveness – NPCC

MCEDD 2020: Deepwater Development

Preliminary Technical Program Announced

Once again, the decisions on technical abstracts were difficult. Due to the high number of quality submissions for the 2020 Program, less than 40% of those submitted were voted into the Program by the Advisory Board. Once again, Subsea Technologies garnered the most number of abstracts, and thus the largest number of session tracks (four). These coupled with high-impact sessions on Marine Construction, Floating Production, and two session tracks dedicated to Pipelines, Flowlines and Risers, offer one of the most in-depth Programs in many years. For the 4th year in a row MCEDD is proud to include a riveting set of presentations in our Alternative Energy Session.

MCEDD 2020 will open with the Operator Forum on Tuesday, 21 April 2020, with Wednesday morning dedicated to the Plenary Operator-Contract Panel Session, and Thursday morning’s Plenary Session, the Financial Outlook Panel. Deepwater is back and MCEDD 2020 will showcase this.

London & South of England Evening Meeting – Energy Transition and the Role of the Oil & Gas Sector – CANCELLED

This event has been cancelled

Institute of Physics, 37 Caledonian Road, Islington, London, N1 9BY

Registrations 18:00 – Presentations 18:30, Refreshments & Networking to follow

The oil & gas sector is facing unprecedented challenge on the right to explore and produce hydrocarbons due to climate concern from the public, and also increasingly investors and governments.

The Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) has been working closely with UKCS industry and government agencies to address the energy transition agenda and good progress has been made to date in a number of areas and cooperation is improving.

Operators are increasingly moving to reduce carbon emissions and develop green energy with their approach needing to become more coordinated with delivery of key targets and projects.

This presentation sets out the issues facing the industry, progress made to date and challenges industry to deliver at pace.

Presenter: Gunther Newcombe, OGA Director Special Projects

Gunther joined the OGA on June 1st, 2015, after a 35-year career with BP, as Director of Operations and has worked closely with industry and government to improve the performance and value of the UKCS offshore oil & gas industry.

More recently Gunther has been involved in the energy transition agenda and the development of integrated energy hubs.

Gunther will be leaving the OGA at the end of March 2020 and seeking new roles in the energy sector.

Gunther is married with four children and based in Aberdeen

OGUK Annual Conference

Efforts by the sector to support decarbonisation, improve business competitiveness and develop skills for the future will be explored at OGUK’s annual industry conference.

The conference, titled “Getting to Net Zero – Roadmap 2035” will explore the theme of current challenges and emerging opportunities.

Coming six months ahead of the COP 26 conference to be held in Glasgow this year, this major industry event is an opportunity to raise your business profile in this new landscape, expand your network of contacts and develop your understanding of the changing business environment as the UK and Scotland gears up to meet its climate ambitions.

Building on the UK Continental Shelf’s investment proposition of stability, efficiency and predictability, delegates will hear how the sector’s Roadmap 2035: a blueprint for net zero is working to help strengthen existing and build new business opportunities.

OGUK – Share Fair

Returning for a new decade, OGUK’s Share Fair is a well-established one-day event which provides the ideal arena for you to gain insight into future business opportunities and raise awareness amongst major potential clients of your goods and services.

Better information on future projects benefits both operators and the supply chain as it helps to create an informed and competitive market where there can be more responsive and timely delivery of key equipment, expertise and personnel.

The event gives supply chain companies face-to-face access to decision makers, enabling both operators and suppliers to better understand how they can potentially work together.
